Polyisocyanurate Insulation

DIY Spray Foaming Made Easy

Polyisocyanurate Insulation is the modern way to seal even the smallest crack or crevasse in your home. Polyiso spray foam as it is often referred to is often installed as a 2 part chemically cured spray in place foaming system. The major difference in a 2 part system is that Two-component foam systems consist of an ''A'' component and a ''B'' component. These two components mix in the nozzle of the dispensing unit, and the resulting foam cures much more quickly than one-component foams.

Two-component foam systems will expand immediately upon chemical reaction of A-component and B-component to a final volume that is 3 to 5 times the dispensed volume, in typical applications, and may be as much as 8 times the dispensed volume in specific applications, depending on various factors such as cavity size, ambient conditions, etc. The foam will cure to a semi-rigid closed cell foam upon the chemical reaction of component A (polymeric isocyanate) with component B (a polyol blend containing certain additives) and carries an R-Value of 6 to 7 per inch (.02w/m.k).

This Two-Component Foam is tack free in less than 60 seconds and cures completely in 2-5 minutes. Cured foam can be trimmed, sanded and/or painted..
