R Value of Insulation

When researching the R Value of Insulation you will want to also understand how the different products are installed. So in this section on the r value of insulation we will give you a basic comparison of the rated values on several common insulation products. This comparison is based on 1” of applied thickness.

From there you will be able to click the links to view details on the uses and installation of each type of insulating product.

What is R-value?

R-value is the measurement of an insulation's ability to prevent heat flow. The higher the R-value, the more insulating power it provides.

The following insulation values are based on 1" of product thickness.
