When the light bulb blows, this is how you make it glow!

by Candice
(Augusta Georgia, US)

First off, to fix a blown light bulb, you will need to purchase a new bulb from the store ahead of time. [It's usually a good idea to have a box of new bulbs in your cabinet ahead of time, just in case this ever happens to you.

And be sure that you get a light bulb that is the same amount of watts as the bulbs you have at home. Lower watts would result in lower lighting and higher watts could result in a fire hazard so be very careful. When you get started, always remember to turn off all electrical units connected to the light you will be replacing.

Next, carefully untwist the bulb from the light until it is removed. Now it's time to put the new bulb into place! Simply twist the new bulb tightly until it is securely in the light socket. Now you test your finished handy-work by turning on the light switch. If the bulb is not coming on, unscrew it and make sure it is screwed in evenly and securely. Repeat the process of turning on the light to be sure that it works and there you have your replaced light bulb.
